I’m Poppy, and I’m so excited to share the full story behind MessyGirl and how it all came together. Let me take you through my journey.

In December 2023, I made the bold decision to drop out of sixth form and fully dive into my passion for fashion marketing. It wasn’t easy, but I knew it was the right path for me. The idea behind MessyGirl came from my frustration with the CleanGirl aesthetic, which I felt pushed unrealistic beauty standards and unhealthy ideas about perfection. As someone who embraces the messy, unfiltered side of life, I wanted to create a space where people could be real, express themselves without fear, and share their stories freely.

MessyGirl became a space to challenge those beauty standards and promote authenticity in every way. I wanted everyone to know that it’s okay to be imperfect, to be messy, and to embrace life as it comes. What started as an idea turned into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

The journey has been beyond exciting. I remember flying to Porto for the first time, not knowing just how much it would change everything, I even had the opportunity to walk the red carpet. Yes, you read that right—a red carpet moment in Porto! It was surreal and such a huge step in my journey, and I couldn’t have done it without all the support I’ve received from you all.

These experiences have been a dream come true, but the mission behind MessyGirl remains the same: creating a space where everyone can feel empowered, celebrated, and unapologetically themselves. From fashion to raw, honest conversations, we’re here to keep it real, no matter what.
