My name is Pauline, a fashion-obsessed, MessyGirl from a country where trends arrive fashionably late. I often hear, “I don’t get your style,” only to see those same styles embraced months later when they finally hit the mainstream. So to all the girls out there who can relate to “not being understood”.. here is my story! X
Were you ever interested in how a fashion girly starts off her journey? Well, I started my journey in fashion right after watching Devil Wears Prada (well.. who hasn’t?) I have gained some knowledge through books and YouTube videos and once stumbled upon The MessyGirl Magazine on TikTok. And I FELL IN LOVE! Messy Girl has everything that I love, fashion, beauty tips and of course interesting, unique and beautiful girls!
I would not say I dress in some specific aesthetic, I have a mix of all of them. I try to develop and work on my own, personal style, wearing things I find comfortable and pretty no matter whether it’s trending or not. This is because following the trends is unrealistic and almost impossible, acknowledging how quickly things can change in the fashion world. My fashion icon has to be @knawtkai, with his super stylish, unique and crazy outfits. They never seem to disappoint me and always catch my attention!)
Now I want to share something personal, to show all the girls out there that you are not alone! Last year I beat one of the world’s deadliest mental illnesses, anorexia. Unfortunately, ED is a very common illness among young girls, trying to fit in the beauty standards. After being in the hospital for over a month, struggling and moments, and crying a lot of tears, I had finally beat the disorder. I am forever grateful I chose the recovery path, and still choose it to this day. To all people who are struggling with an ED at the moment - you are not alone. We love you and see you, MessyGirl is not about fitting in, it is about finding other people like you and being yourself together!
My main goals in fashion include; visiting the fashion week, developing my personal style, learning to sew my own clothes, networking in the fashion industry and making the fashion world more inclusive and accessible to all the people out there! I hope this glimpse into my journey resonates with you. Remember, messy girls unite! I'd love to hear your stories and experiences too. Together, let's celebrate our individuality and support one another in this vibrant fashion world! love from Pauline xoxo
